Florida is one of the states that is severely infected with HIV. For example, in Miami-Dade County, Fl 1,208 of every 100,000 people were living with a HIV infection. As you move up North to states, such as Maine, the number of people infected with HIV infections decrease. In Somerset County, ME 56 of every 100,000 people are living with HIV. Moving over towards states like Montana, Utah, and Idaho less people are living with a HIV infection. Persons between the age of 13 to 24 are the least infected compared to those between the age of 35 to 44. Females are less likely to be infected with HIV than males. However, in states, such as Florida, South Carolina, and North Carolina have a higher rate of females infected with HIV than those living in states like New Mexico, Utah, Arizona and Nevada.
